Our winery is located in the heart of Southern Burgenland and operated since 1983 by the Wukits family. The innovative winery owns currently seven hectars of vineyards, spread over 3 different areas with distinctly different terroir:
The Eisenberg with heavy loamy soil, rich in iron minerals and dry slate; the Csaterberg, with opal and serpentine conglomerates and the region around Neuhaus with heavy loamy soil with gravel, rich in iron minerals. This variety of soils together with the microclimatic conditions allows the production of wines with a unique character. Besides the key variety Blaufränkisch, the winery produces wines from Zweigelt, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot as well as crisp and fruity white wines like Welschriesling, Muscat Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc and a peculiar 'Gemischter Satz' from a vineyard with a mix of Grüner Veltliner, Welschriesling and Sämling.
The size of the winery allows the implementation of their quality philosophy. Reduced yield, strict selection at the vineyard, cultivated with utmost attention to nature and late, careful harvest are the key ingredients for the production of high quality wines with regional typicity and unique character.
